MacNab Adventure - The Ultimate in Sporting Challenges

The 'MacNab' challenge is to namely bag a red deer, shoot a brace of grouse and catch a salmon, all within one day, as taken from the John Buchan novel 'John MacNab'.

Every true field sportsman dreams of achieving the ultimate sporting challenge. With Ayrshire Country Events your dream can come true. We will take you to some of the most productive estates in Scotland. We can provide all necessary transportation including helicopter transfer, all travel arrangements, accommodation, all necessary sporting equipment, permits and catering.

The day would consist of being on the river at sun up to try and catch salmon. We would then move onto the grouse moor to bag a grouse and then stalk a stag. As with any forms of shooting and fishing no guarantee can be made. However, by selecting the best beats on the rivers the best grouse moors and coupled with local knowledge and expert advice most of our clients achieve the 'McNab Challenge'.

As with any exclusive trophy the 'McNab Challenge' due to the set-up costs, guides and transport etc is not cheap, but it is a wonderful chance to join one of the most exclusive clubs in the world.

You will be accompanied by your guide, ghillie and an estate gamekeeper at all times, who will give you guidance and advice, helping you attempt the ultimate sporting challenge!

Those who do successfully complete a 'MacNab' will receive a certificate from Ayrshire Country Events as a lasting memory of their amazing day.

We can also arrange to have the Salmon, Grouse and Stag Head stuffed and mounted.
